The rooms are ready for occupancy from 15:00 at the earliest.

We ask you to vacate the room by 11:00 a.m. at the latest on the day of departure so that we can make it ready for the next guests in good time.

On your day of departure, check carefully that you have not forgotten anything. Postage costs for items which have been forgotten and which we have to send to you will be charged to you.

Depending on the weather, there is a natural ice rink at the lake by the gravel works in winter. A sign at the Steininger bakery indicates whether the ice rink is in operation.

Our rich breakfast buffet is available for you from 7:30 am to 10:00 am in the dining room.
In the winter months from November to April, breakfast times may vary slightly. You will be informed of the times when you arrive.

Thank you for not taking any food from the dining room.

Your television is already set, we kindly ask you not to change this. The radio is integrated directly into the TV, you will find a radio and TV list in your room.

What to do in case of fire?
Don't panic! Keep calm! Our hotel is fully protected by state-of-the-art fire protection systems.
A plan showing the escape route is displayed in your room.
In an emergency, please take the following measures:

1. inform reception immediately!
Where is there a fire? What is burning?

2. sound the alarm!

3. close windows and doors to avoid draughts!

4. use portable fire extinguishers

For reasons of environmental protection, we do not generally change the towels. We ask you to place any towels you wish to have changed on the floor. Please note the environmental protection card, thank you.

You are welcome to park your bicycles in our bicycle cellar. Please ask at reception where this is located. The bicycle cellar is locked overnight.

In summer, a folklore evening is held every Tuesday on the quay. Enjoy a Swiss evening with a festival restaurant, traditional costume and yodeling groups!

You have the option of having restaurant consumptions added to your room bill. Please ask for the bill to be signed in the restaurant and in the dining room.

You can settle the total room bill on the day of departure by 11:00 a.m. at the latest. If you would like to do this earlier, you can also pay at reception the evening before after dinner.

If you would like help carrying your luggage on arrival or departure, please let us know at reception.

Our hotel rooms are not equipped with a minibar. On the second floor you will find a vending machine where you can buy chilled drinks and small snacks with coins.

There is a small room on the 2nd floor where you can get free boiling or cold spring water at any time.

As a house guest you benefit from our gourmet menu to share in 4 courses at a price of CHF 49.00 per person and day.
In the afternoon you can enjoy a freecoffee with cake or pastries from 3.30 pm - 5.00 pm. (included in the half board)

Dinner is served between 18:00 and 19:00 in our dining room. A table will be reserved for you.
In the interest of our hotel, we ask you to wear appropriate clothing for dinner.

Your dog is welcome to stay with us. For cleaning reasons we charge CHF 15.00 per day and dog (excl. food).
Please bring your own dog blanket.

Have you forgotten something? We have toothpaste, toothbrushes and shaving sets available for you free of charge at reception.

Brienz is also known as the "carving village". Its wood carvings are very well known and are definitely a nice present for your loved ones at home or as a souvenir for yourself.
At the reception you will find information about museums and woodcarving stores.

You will find the Roman Catholic church (chapel) in the center of the village of Brienz.
Mass takes place in Brienz on Sunday at 9:30 am
or in Meiringen on Saturday at 17:15/18:00 and on Sunday at 11:00

The Evangelical Reformed Church is located at the exit of the village, on the right side of the hill.

Would you like to take a packed lunch with you for your hike or excursion?
Just let us know at reception by 6 p.m. the day before and we will prepare your packed lunch for the next day.
The pack contains a sandwich, a fruit, a chocolate bar, a boiled egg and a drink. Price: CHF 15.00

Parking spaces are available free of charge, subject to availability. If there is no space available, please ask at reception so that we can allocate you a parking space.

In winter, you will find the latest piste report for the Axalp and Meiringen-Hasliberg ski areas at reception every morning.

The post office in Brienz is located in the village center, right next to the train station.

All our rooms are non-smoking rooms. However, you can smoke on the balcony. Ashtrays are available.

Despite careful room checks, it can occasionally happen that a defect in the room or in public areas is only discovered by the guests themselves. In this case, it would be very helpful if you could report the defect directly to reception.

From Brienz you have two options for skiing:

Axalp: Axalp is a small, very family-friendly ski area that is particularly popular with families with young children. In addition to skiing, you can also go cross-country skiing, winter hiking or tobogganing on the Axalp. The ski bus to Axalp runs directly opposite the hotel.

Meiringen-Hasliberg: Slightly larger and more varied ski area. Cross-country ski trails, winter hiking trails and toboggan runs are also available. The ski bus departs from the train station, but you can also easily reach the valley station in Meiringen by car in approx. 15 minutes. Piste maps and the current piste report are available at reception.

Please leave your skis, snowboards, sledges and ski boots in our ski room. It is not permitted to take your ski equipment into your room.
Ask our staff, we will be happy to show you where the ski room is located. The ski room is locked overnight.

Brienz has many beautiful walks. From the hotel, for example, you can walk directly along the beautiful lakeside promenade into the center of Brienz.
Turn left just after the Steininger bakery and it's about a 20-minute walk to the center.

In summer we recommend a refreshing dip in our clean Lake Brienz. Average temperature: approx. 20°C.
A public outdoor pool is also located directly on the lake, approx. 10 minutes' walk from the hotel.
There are indoor swimming pools in Meiringen and Interlaken.

The hotel bus will take you from the train station to the hotel or from the hotel to the train station on arrival and departure.

Forgotten items such as cell phone cables, clothes or other items will only be returned on request for a fee.

We'd be happy to take care of your laundry. You'll find the laundry bag in the closet. Laundry service will be charged as follows:

Washing / Ironing: CHF 6.00 per kg
Washing only: CHF 4.00 per kg
Ironing only: CHF 3.00 per item

You will find the weather forecast for the next day at reception every evening.

You can also go on beautiful hikes around Brienz in winter. A winter hike through the snow-covered landscape of the Ballenberg is particularly recommended. Although the houses are closed in winter, the area remains open for walks.

There are countless beautiful hiking trails in the Bernese Oberland. At reception you will find various brochures, maps, information and ideas. We particularly recommend the hiking trail from Axalp to Hinterburgseeli, where you can admire the beautiful views and many wood carvings along the way.

You can also pay in euros, we will change your money at the daily exchange rate.

You will find daily newspapers and magazines in the restaurant. We kindly ask you not to leave the newspapers in your room.
